Six years ago my wife, Jo Ella, and I purchased a home on the California Delta. The Delta is within the confluence of many rivers and streams that make up a wild life environment like no other in California. It was a life changing event. Primarily, we did it because we had to escape the pollen and pollution of the Sacramento area. We found that the prevailing sea breeze from the San Francisco Bay rolled up the Sacramento River and washed over the West Delta. Soon the breathing and allergy issues abated to a manageable level, and we are healthier!
I was in heaven. I love to fish, and I love the water. I love the serene atmosphere in the evening, when we are moved to sit near the water to feel the night come upon us. We are blessed!
It has been a challenge, because the home was in shambles and I still worked in Sacramento. We spent those years remodeling our personal living space and have recently devoted our efforts to the dock and the cottage on the water. Those of you who have bitten off more than you can chew in the home remodeling arena will understand and sympathize with me, but I would not change a minute of it!
All that said, we are nearing completion and are working on the landscaping and the entry. The cottage that was designed as just a comfy place to sit and visit with our friends has grown into a space that is more than our dreams. It is simple and comfortable. It is cozy and quiet. There are wild life and sounds that you will not hear in your normal neighborhood.
There are no phones. The TV reception is limited. It is just what we needed.
It is just what you need.
We are not a 5 star mega hotel with servants and room service and a taxi stand in front. This is a Mom and Pop operation, and it will forever stay that way. This is a simple waterfront vacation rental that you can enjoy as we do.
